Christmas Cards and Gift Certifcates-Cary, NC Photographer

As promised on Facebook, I have taken pictures of some Christmas cards (OK, mine and my mom's).  I'm absolutely thrilled by the way they turned out.  The pictures do not do them justice.  They have this beautiful, soft pearlized sheen to them.  I did flat cards instead of the traditional folded cards so that my recipients can just use the back picture after the holidays have passed.  They can frame it if they'd like.  If this is something you are interested in having done, there is still time.  Contact me as soon as possible so I have time to design the cards.

I also received my gift cards from the printers as well today.  They make excellent Christmas gifts.  Who wouldn't like the gift of pictures.  If this is something that would be perfect for a family member, contact me and I can get one to you right away.

Thankful-Cary, NC Photographer

This year I have so much to be thankful for.  I have a wonderful husband who supports my endeavors and is a good father and provider.  I am also thankful for my two beautiful children.  They are healthy, smart and just all around good kids (despite the the little spats that they have between each other.)  I'm thankful that my mother lives close enough that if I need help, she can be there to help me.  I also have inlaws that will drop anything and come if I need them.  I am also thankful that I have some of the best friends that a girl could ever ask for-from the friends that I've know since I was 3 to the ones that live 3,000 miles away to my besties that I talk to everyday.  I'm thankful for you all.  Finally, I am thankful for all of my new clients.  Without you and your referrals, I'm not sure if I would continue with my new venture.  So to you, I say thank you.  I wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

What's a photo blog without pictures?  Here are a couple of pictures of two of the people that I am extremely thankful for:  Grace and Cooper.

The M Family at Sarah P. Duke Gardens-Durham, NC Family Photographer

Let me start this post by saying that I'm not a Duke fan... but I love their garden.  The Sarah P. Duke Gardens are so lovely that it doesn't matter what time of the year that you visit you will find something that you will fall in love with.  When the M Family suggested this as the site for their holiday portrait, I was so excited.  I was a little chilly this morning but that didn't put a damper on anyone's mood.  Mister A and Miss A were absolute joys to work with.  Miss A took a little bit of coaxing to get her to smile and look at the camera but I did manage to get some shots of her doing both.  I'm not sure if she did ever see Cinderella, Jaques and Gus-Gus ever pop out my lens but she did try to see them.

I hope you enjoy the sneak peek and I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Newborn Mr. B Sneak Peek-Cary, NC Child Photographer

Earlier this week I went to take some newborn pictures of little Mr. B.  He is the little peanut that I took pictures the day after his birth.  Well, he's now 3 weeks old and is growing like a weed.   I was able to get some pictures of him by himself and well as with big brother L.  They are both beautiful little boys.  I know their mom and dad has to be proud.

Fun Family Pictures-Cary, NC Child Photographer

I guess the title of this post says it all.  I took pictures for the most fun family yesterday.  The kids were as cute as a button and personalities to boot.  I had a blast walking around their neighborhood park and pond yesterday.  Mister I loved to climb trees and Miss E was fascinated with rocks.  I think their joy for life is quite evident in these pictures.  I hope they enjoy them.

Mommy's Little Monster-Cary, NC

Took Cooper to the park this morning. I'm really enjoying my one on one time with him. I completely forgot how much fun this age is. Cooper has been making my laugh with his toddler antics. My favorite one is whenever he hears music that he likes, he yells, "Dance" and then stomps his little feet up and down as fast as he can while spinning in a circle. Very cute. I'll have to tuck this memory away in my mommy brain so that when he is older and doesn't want to go to dances that there was a time when he loved to dance.

My Kiddos

Part of the inspiration to take my photography further was my kids. I love taking their pictures. I remember my mom telling me how quickly time flies once you have kids. Now I understand what she means. I look back on pictures that I took of my son 6 months ago and he is so different. Six months is that much time either. I'm sad by the time that I have lost but at the same time excited about the times to come.
